John Deere has rolled out new strip-till equipment to reduce the number of trips farmers need to make across their fields while preparing seedbeds. The equipment includes a pair of integral models as well as three drawn models. They are designed to match dry fertilizer or anhydrous applications.

Customers can choose from the John Deere ST12 and ST16 integral models or the ST12, ST16, and ST18 drawn models. They are prepared to work in a wide array of field conditions straight from the factory. Additionally, these products offer a variety of colters, row spacings, and shanks. Agricultural professionals can customize the strip-till equipment to suit their specific needs out in the field.

“Strip-till can improve soil health, reduce erosion and conserve soil moisture,” said Ryan Jardon, marketing manager for John Deere. “Strip-till has been shown to help farmers reduce input costs while maintaining yields and further maximizing their profitability. In addition, these new strip-till units allow farmers to prepare their seedbeds in the fall, so they’re ready to plant in the spring.”

The drawn models come in 12, 16, or 18-row configurations, and their tanks can carry up to 10 tons of dry fertilizer and scales. The ST12 and ST16 can come with 30-inch spacing, and the ST18 is available in 20- or 22-inch spacing. The integral models come with either 12 or 16 rows, and the ST12 and ST16 have 30-inch spacing. Customers can also use the strip-till equipment with a John Deere tractor equipped with ag precision technology for even more efficiency.

“John Deere Active Implement Guidance ensures your strips are exactly where you want them to be, even in turns or navigating hillsides,” Jardon explains. “John Deere AutoPath™ uses your strip-till pass as the source path, so your planter can precisely follow your strip-till rows.”

The strip-till equipment will be available to order in February 2023. More information can be found by contacting your local John Deere dealer, or visiting www.JohnDeere.com/tillage.
